Training

MIT personnel who participate in, or oversee activities that are regulated because of potential risks to the environment, health, or safety must receive training appropriate to the regulated activity. Instructions on how training is determined is listed below.


Atlas Learning Center

EHS Training course offering are listed in the MIT Atlas Learning Center. If the training is offered virtually the instructor will send you a link 1-3 days before the session. If you do not see a class scheduled in the learning center or are unable to locate a web course, please contact the EHS Office by emailing environment@mit.edu or contact your DLC EHS Coordinator and Lead Contact.

Learners

Getting started with EHS training requirements on MIT Atlas Learning Center (for Lab Members, Lab UROPs, and Others to take the EHS Training Needs) – Learner Quick Guide

  1. See your EHS Rep about your lab’s training requirements
  2. Go to MIT Atlas Learning Center
  3. Create/Update your EHS Profile on the My Profile page by selecting your PI(s) (required except for Lincoln Lab) and activities
  4. View and complete your required/recommended training on the My Training Needs page

Taking training for Academic Subjects only, not UROPs (see Learners above)

  1. See your Course Instructor or Teaching Assistant about your EHS Training requirements
  2. Go to MIT Atlas Learning Center
  3. View and complete your required training

Training Group Members

Taking training for Training Groups

  1. See your Supervisor about your EHS Training requirements and whether you need to be added to a training group.
  2. Go to MIT Atlas Learning Center
  3. View and complete your required training
