Learn best practices and tips on reducing overall plug-load energy consumption in labs.

A typical laboratory uses more than three times as much electricity per square foot as an office. Much of the energy use responsible for a lab’s large energy footprint comes from plug-load equipment, which includes freezers, incubators, computers and other technologies which are necessary to support laboratory research.

The presentation will discuss the EHS Office’s pilot project to reduce plug-load energy use in labs by conducting plug-load energy assessments and using timers to set automatic on/off schedules for equipment that is not in use.
